For my final work of Intro to fabrication I wanted to used the box I did for another assignment of this class and put a circuit inside to make some noise, an atari punk synth using a NE556.
First thing was to test the circuit, and then solder to a board once it worked.
I was doubting in painting the box in white or put some oil (final choice) to have the wood texture that is really nice.
Here are some pictures of the process….
and a video of the final work,
For this project i use paper mache to make a lamps.
First was making the glue with flour and water, and pasting strips of news paper to a balloon, when it dried I painted and make the whole to attached the chord with the bulb holder inside,
At first wanted to attached a piece of wood to the lamp so it stays steady
but after it was better to adjust the bulb holder with a threaded nipple.
Finally i added a piece of wood to the threaded nipple so i can hold clamps to the lamp in order to clamp it wherever i want.

I really liked the laser Origami Video, and would like to do something like this so after you can put a stripe on to it and wear it like a necklace, still haver to figure out how to lift the acrylic so when i melt one of the sides, the jewelry have space to fall down.
heres a pic of the design made in processingAfter having a first design I went to illustrator to do the final document before to cut it in the lazor cutter, also printed to see the real size:
The snake (left drawing) didn’t show up nice after the laser cutter because the amount of edging in a small figure, so I decided to keep only the puma head.
Finally I use the acrylic bender
And add the metal so it can be an earring:
The assigment for this class was to make multiple objects,
I decided to make an andean cross called CHACANA, that is a symbol that represents balance among other things (kind like a ying yang for incas).
I started drawing the sketch in paper and then in illustrator
Next I printed the mold, drew and cut a piece of wood
After that I shaped the edges with the router, cut the piece in half and move it a little bit before putting them together using the pocket screw jig:
Finally we spray the Chacana in the middle, and put some white paint to contrast more:
For my first self made flash light i used:
piece of wood
two LED light
and two AA batteries
with the wood we made a battery holder to fit the 2 batteries and have a power source of almost 3V. we used some copper paper at the ends and connect wire to it.
after connecting all the elements, we build a case with the cardboard.
